David Flannery is the founder and driving force behind CarbonLeaf Consulting. He is passionate about building profitable businesses that have a positive impact on the environment. David was graduated from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies with a Master’s degree in Environmental Management (Natural Resource Economics Concentration) and from the Yale School of Management with an MBA (Strategy Concentration) in 1997.
That early start enabled David to gain valuable environmental business experience developing strong business plans and high impact commercial strategies, then executing to meet sales and profit goals by effectively managing people and resources. David was most recently Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Converted Organics Inc., a company that converts food waste into organic fertilizer which it sells into the consumer, professional turf and agriculture markets. Concurrently, David was Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Operations for TerraSphere Systems, a company that builds, owns and operates super indoor farms in cities, and which was acquired by Converted Organics. David was formerly Vice President and General Manager of the Professional Services Business Unit at Clean Harbors Inc., the leading provider of energy and environmental services in North America. David was selected to join the Climate Reality Leadership Corps and will be trained by Al Gore in August 2012 so that he can educate the public about climate change, its impacts and solutions.
